Six people were stabbed at the parade after the assailant, an ultra-Orthodox Jewish man identified as Yishai Shlissel, emerged behind the marchers and began stabbing them while screaming. He was arrested by the Israeli police. Shlissel was recently released from prison after serving a term for stabbing several people at the Jerusalem gay pride parade in 2005.
